We understand that when moving to a new location it’s the little things that are important (after all, what are we to do without Wi-Fi?). As part of our full suite of employee relocation services, we are able to provide support and guidance to your employee so that they can focus on their new life, without the administrative burden of setting up utility accounts or trying to locate their nearest doctor's surgery.
Making a house into a home
One of our most useful employee relocation services, our settling-in support starts a few weeks ahead of the planned move-in day. We are able to guide your employee through the maze of utility suppliers, to ensure that they select the right package for their needs. It can take several weeks for telephone lines to be activated, and we understand how important ‘getting connected’ to friends and family at home will be.
Our accompanied settling-in support usually takes place on the same day as the key handover, and again, where possible, we will arrange for the area specialist who supported your employee during their Area Orientation and Home Search, to also support your employee with their settling-in - we believe it’s always nice to see a familiar face! The support provided as part of this employee relocation service is completely bespoke and tailored to the needs of the individual and their family.
How it works, at a glance…
We aim to deliver settling-in via the same specialist that provided their previous employee relocation services such as area orientation and home finding.
We help select utility providers and packages, then set-up the accounts in advance, so everything is ready to go. We'll also pop in and help set up the TV box and Wi-Fi router, so everything works from the very first day.
We provide a bespoke welcome basket of provisions, so no matter what time or day the key handover happens, the employee has some familiar creature comforts to hand.
We liaise with the landlord or agents to resolve any issues immediately after the employee moves in, for example if agreed repairs haven't been made prior to occupancy.
We take the employee around the area to refresh their memory of where the nearest amenities are, from shops to doctors, to public transport links, including the best route to the office, recapping on previous area orientation services.
We register the employee and their family with a local doctor and dentist, set up bank accounts, purchase travel cards, join gyms, access online grocery shopping, whatever they need to make them feel right at home.
We'll help them rent a car if they need one and teach them about UK driving.
We'll help the employee to make friends locally, by introducing them to expat clubs, local activities, societies, venues, meet ups and groups based around their existing interests.
