Here is some helpful information and links, if you are moving your child to London.
If you are moving to the UK with children, you may be unsure how they will fair in a country with a different language. Depending on the child and the amount of exposure to the new language, it can take a very long time for them to become comfortable, and confident in conversing with native speakers.
What about their education? Surely this cannot be put on hold until the child is ready?
Here is a list of bilingual schools in London so your child can study, grow, and becoming multilingual, all at the same time!
French
Lycee International de Londres
This is a French and English-speaking school which teaches the French curriculum to children aged 5-18, infused with English language and English literature. The percentage of classes taught in English grows from 20 % in Year 1 to 40 % in Year 4 and thereafter.
The school is very close to Wembley Park Station, and 20 minutes away from Oxford Circus.

German
Deutsche Schule London
German language school which boasts of 800+ students from 30 different countries. After all, German is the most commonly spoken language in the EU!
It offers a successive course of education from preschool, a four-year elementary school and a secondary school. It teaches the International Curriculum as well as the German Abitur which is a set of exams that you take in the final year of studies.
The school is located in Richmond and is easily accessible from Richmond Tube Station.
Spanish
Instituto Espanol Canada Blanch
A Spanish school located in Kensington. This is a school that belongs to a network of school owned by the Spanish State. It teaches the Spanish curriculum for children aged 5-18.
This school is FREE of charge for Spanish children, which probably means spaces fill up pretty quickly!
It is located near Ladbroke Grove tube station, close to Notting Hill.
Italian
La Scuola Italiana A Londra
Italian and English-speaking school, with a nursery. This school teaches the Italian Curriculum with aspects of the English education system to children aged 3-11, with the vision to allow the student to be confident enough to enter the English or Italian education system, once they finish.
The school itself, is located in Shepard’s Bush.
Greek
Finchley Greek School
This is a school created twenty-four years ago to serve the Greek community in Finchley. It offers a Curriculum based around work that is outlined by the Greek Education and Culture. As well as teaching GCSE and A’ level classes they teach Greek language and the children are taught about the history, geography, music and dance of Greece and Cyprus.
The school is located within walking distance of New Southgate railway station, North London.
Danish
Dania School
A school for children ages 3-11 of Scandinavian backgrounds. They teach the English and Danish curriculum, in order for the children to be able to continue their education in either country.
The school is located within walking distance to Caledonian road tube station.
Swedish
Svenska Skolan London
This school teaches the Swedish curriculum for students from pre-school, through to sixth form. This is the only Swedish school in the UK. This school has been open for over 100 years.
The school itself is located near Hammersmith tube station, with a walk over Hammersmith Bridge, and the Sixth Form is located within Richmond University.
Norwegian
The Norweigen School in London
This school follows the Norwegian National Curriculim (Kunnskapsløftet). They accommodate pupils from the ages of 6-16, whome are taught both English and Norwegian language/culture. They do have Kindergarten, but it operates a seperate business, despite being on the same premises.
It can be found in Wimbledon, SW London, near Wimbledon Rail Station.
Japanese
The Japanese School Ltd.
The Japanese School of London is an international school which acts as a day school as well as a Saturday school. They teach children from the age of 6 until 15, and have a Sixth Form.
